This week, Google unveiled four new capabilities for the Maps app on Android and iOS, all of which are focused on the US national park system. If you frequently visit these beautiful places, this update is for you.
With the upgrade, users can now easily find a park’s attractions, campgrounds, visitor centers, and trailheads, among other popular locations. As Google expressly mentions the Maps community, this is made possible as a result of the work we, the users, have put in. I guess you’re welcome.
In addition, trails are now more than just starting-point dots on Maps; they are now a significant component. You may now see well-known paths in their whole and find the start and end of them and end of that path. This may be quite helpful while preparing for a hike.
Users will soon be able to highlight park gates on the map and get better instructions to trailheads if they’re traveling on foot or by bicycle.
When there is poor mobile reception outside in a park, use the final item. Similar to other locations, users can download these maps and associated information for offline use. That’s really useful once more.
