This month’s release of the Galaxy S23 coincided with the advent of a significant One UI 5.1 update for the remaining top-tier Samsung phones that are still supported. The Galaxy S21 is finally getting One UI 5.1, which has previously been released for smartphones like the Galaxy S22, Flip 4, and Fold 4.
Those who own a Verizon Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, or Galaxy S21 Ultra will soon receive the update. Those with unlocked devices or from different carriers shouldn’t be long behind, in my opinion.
You should check for G991USQU5EWAI (S21), G996USQU5EWAI (S21+), and G998USQU5EWAI under Settings>System update>Download and Install to download latest builds (S21 Ultra).
What has One UI 5.1 added? It’s a lot.
The Camera, Gallery, Wallpaper, Widgets, and multitasking are all improved in Verizon’s long list of One UI changes and additions. Look for enhanced video output controls, DeX something-or-other, faster and smoother animations, a new battery widget, a new weather widget, quicker access to Samsung’s Expert RAW mode, and more.
Please feel free to have a look; we’ve already heard from at least one reader who downloaded this update (Thanks Matthew!). Even while it may not be Android 14 or a significant OS update, this update from Samsung is nonetheless really pleasant.
