Owners of the Pixel Watch should be on the watch for fresh software in addition to the new March Google Pixel update with Pixel Feature Drop goodies and nearly 50 bug fixes. Google has been fantastic about updating it each month, and March is no different now that it has its own watch to support.
Verizon claims that the new update is rolling out to watches as build RWDA.230114.008.R1. It is scheduled to be released on this day, March 13.
The only information Verizon is providing about this update is that it has “the most recent Android Security fixes.” Google has not yet commented on it. That shouldn’t come as a huge surprise considering that this month’s Pixel Feature Drop just focuses on two things and barely discusses the Pixel Watch. The first is that Fall Detection, a function Google had mentioned a few weeks ago, is scheduled to be included in this version.
The settings for the other item are for sound and display. You should soon be able to “customize audio and visual experiences on your Pixel Watch,” according to Google. Therefore, you’ll be able to employ “new color-correction and greyscale modes will better optimize the display for a wider variety of vision preferences, and mono-audio to decrease the confusion that can be created by split-audio.” Neat.
Give this dated Wear OS updating method a try if you want the update right immediately. It has consistently worked for updates and fetches Pixel Watch updates right away, even if the watch comes first.
