The NHS is providing more prostate cancer treatments in England.

In England, the NHS is treating more prostate cancer patients:The number of men in England receiving treatment for prostate cancer has increased by more than 25% in just one year, according to new NHS statistics released today.
3,898 men with prostate cancer were treated in August, up from 3,057 the previous year.
The NHS’s chief executive, Amanda Pritchard, stated that public education campaigns were to blame for the rise and that talking about cancer “can save lives.”
Between August 2021 and August 2022.244,415 (versus 202,661 the year before), nearly 40,000 more people than ever before will undergo urological examinations, including prostate disease screenings. The reason for the increase is the launch of a joint campaign between Prostate Cancer UK and the NHS to encourage men to use the foundation’s prostate risk checker tool.Since its launch in February, the risk checker has been used more than one million times, assisting 1,800 additional men in receiving a diagnosis.
Prostate cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed types of cancer. Treatment at stages one and two has a survival rate close to 100%, whereas treatment at stages four only has a survival rate of 50%.
The NHS is continuing to implement extensive plans to increase early diagnosis in accordance with the NHS Long Term Plan’s goal of increasing the number of cancers detected early. These plans include hotlines for cancer symptoms and high-street cancer checks that have been tried out in pharmacies.

The NHS’s head, Amanda Pritchard, stated:As a direct result of campaigns and tens of thousands more requests for screenings, we have treated an increasing number of men with prostate cancer over the course of the past year.Cancer conversations save lives.
The fact that early detection of prostate cancer has a close-to-100 percent survival rate and that receiving treatment significantly increases the likelihood of survival is encouraging news for men and their families.
“We are continuing to roll out one-stop shops for tests in the heart of local communities and pharmacy checks on the high street as new and convenient ways for people to get checked. We are committed to discovering more cancers earlier, when treatment is simpler.
We are urging men with health issues to get checked out this “Movember.”Using the online risk checker, you can quickly and easily determine your own risk of developing prostate cancer.
This month, known as “Movember,” the Public Wellbeing Administration (NHS) and charitable organizations are urging men to get checked for early signs of disease.
