This may be your best opportunity right now. The Ilma, the second forthcoming cruise ship from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, is already accepting reservations.
In operation starting in September 2024, the 456-guest ship will cost US$6,800 per person.
The first floating hotel launched by the hospitality giant was a success, and the Ilma will provide the same unmatched amenities and service to appeal to the world’s most affluent travelers.
Here’s a look inside the brand-new hotel on the water.
You’ll need to wait if you want to travel on the forthcoming Ilma.
The cruise ship, which the company jokingly refers to as a “superyacht,” won’t start operating until 2024. The Ilma will set sail on its first six Mediterranean voyages in September and feature plenty of lounge chairs on its pool deck for days at sea.
The next ship’s accommodations will all feature balconies. Over the marina, The Ilma will have a second pool. Itineraries will last seven to thirteen nights and take tourists to places like Spain’s Balearic Islands while also including overnight stays in cities like Alexandria, Egypt. Visitors will have easy access to the water thanks to the marina. There will be at least one sailing day on each of these six trips without a port of call.
Of course, there will be a bar on the pool deck. This can be the most dull day of the vacation, in the opinion of some. Yet, travelers will at least get to enjoy it while on a 790-foot-long floating Ritz-Carlton.The luxury vessel is no mega cruise vessel. There’s no rock climbing wall, rows of waterslides, or loud mini-golf courses for bored children.
However, it does have a pool deck, a separate infinity pool, five restaurants, six bars, several lounges and a spa.
If you’re already familiar with the cruise line’s first vessel, the 623-ft Evrima, you’ll probably recognise some of the amenities aboard the upcoming Ilma.
Like its predecessor, the new vessel will have a marina with a new adjacent terrace, giving guests direct access to the water and water toys while the ship is anchored.
The infinity pool will be located above the marina and below several suites. At most, the vessel can accommodate 456 guests with a nearly one-to-one staff-to-guest ratio.
