A New York Woman Is Accused Of Attempting To Kill Someone Using Poisoned Cheesecake

A New York woman is facing attempted murder charges after adding poison to her victim’s cheesecake.

In order to steal Olga Tsvyk’s identity, Viktoria Nasyrova allegedly delivered her neighbor a cheesecake that was poisoned with a “deadly sedative” in 2016. The two share a striking resemblance.

‘[Nasyrova] laced a slice of cheesecake with a deadly drug so she could steal her unsuspecting victim’s most valuable asset, her identity,’ district attorney Melinda Katz alleged in court. Luckily, her victim lived, and the poison led straight to the murderer.

After eating the cheesecake that her “friend” had brought, the victim, in her own words, “started feeling extremely ill” and “lost consciousness,” before another friend discovered her unconscious in bed and dialed 911. Tsvyk discovered that her passport, other identification, as well as a number of jewelry and valuables, had been stolen after arriving home safely.

I began to look for a place to lay down on the bed. Eyelash technician Tsvyk said, “I started looking for a pillow. “Vika, I’m feeling really bad,” I told her as I began to realize that I was going unconscious. I became incredibly queasy. I felt like throwing up. On Monday, Tzvyk told the jury, “I started to throw up right by my bed onto the ground.”

‘ “Vika, I’m going to throw up right now,” I informed her. Don’t worry about it, she advised. I’ll tidy it up.” I recall that she returned carrying [cleaning product] Bounty after using the restroom.

According to the court, phenazepam, a “potent sedative,” was discovered through analysis of the container the cheesecake was brought in. Phenazepam capsules were discovered scattered throughout the home after a crime scene investigation, which led the prosecution to believe that the crime was staged to appear like a suicide attempt.

On charges of attempted murder, assault, and unlawful imprisonment, Nasyrova could spend up to 25 years in prison.

Since the case first gained public attention in 2018, two years after the crime was committed in 2016, it has captivated New Yorkers.

Amazingly, Nasyrova had previously been charged with a similar crime in her native Russia in 2014, where she was accused of fatally poisoning a neighbor. She fled to America and later found work as a dominatrix there, claiming in a 2017 television interview that she wasn’t to blame for the death of her neighbor. Local media have been enthralled by the tale of “the eye-popping case of the Russian temptress with a ghastly past” (according to the New York Post).
