‘Desperate Housewives’ Star Eva Longoria Returns ‘Flamin’ Hot’ Co-Star Jesse Metcalfe Walks the Red Carpet

At the screening of her feature film directing debut, the actress told PEOPLE that she “had to grab” her former costar for a short reunion.

Old friends are the best friends.

At the screening of her feature film directing debut Flamin’ Hot on Friday night, Eva Longoria spotted her Desperate Housewives costar Jesse Metcalfe.

As Longoria was preparing to talk to PEOPLE on the event’s star-studded red carpet, she noticed her former co-star and urged him to join her.

After their on-screen romance on the ABC sitcom ended, Longoria told PEOPLE that she “had to grab Jessie” since she hadn’t seen him “in a million years.” The two then posed for a few shots together.

Longoria went on to say that directing Flamin’ Hot was a destiny she had to fulfill even before her Desperate Housewives days.

“I think people think I’m an actor-turned-director, but I’m really a director-producer-turned-actor,” the famous man said to PEOPLE. To to the director, “I’ve always loved being behind the camera, and I’ve always been interested in the business side, so directing has always felt very natural to me.”

To elaborate, Longoria said, “I used Desperate Housewives as my film school — that’s where I learned everything.”

However, when asked if she had any immediate intentions to transition to full-time directing, the diva emphasized, “I love acting, so I’ll always do that.”

With a completely backless waistcoat and pointed stilettos, Zendaya conveys seriousness

Each press trip Zendaya does redefines business casual. The actor attended CinemaCon wearing a stylish attire designed by Louis Vuitton after being recently selected as the brand’s ambassador. At the event in Las Vegas on April 25, Zendaya promoted her upcoming film “Dune: Part II” and posed for pictures while wearing a structured vest and tailored pants that gave the impression she was the red carpet’s chief fashion officer.

Zendaya’s costume, which departed from conventional professional clothing, was a vest with no back from Louis Vuitton’s ready-to-wear collection for autumn 2023. The plunging top had a high collar, a three-button front, and plaid fabric strips on either side of her waist to give the appearance of a shirt underneath.

Maintaining her laid-back take on traditional business attire, Zendaya let the remainder of the belt strap dangle over the back pockets of her palazzo pants. The tweed bottoms billowed at either side of the knee, creating a futuristic silhouette. The pants also featured deep front pockets and cuffed hems that pooled around her white pointed-toe stilettos. She styled the outfit with metallic bangles, oversize hoop earrings, and a milk-bath manicure that beautifully complemented her heels.

Her costar Timothée Chalamet joined her on the red carpet in leather pants from Helmut Lang’s spring 1998 collection. He styled the vintage pants with a matching vest layered over a white T-shirt and black boots. Between the earthy tones of Zendaya’s outfit and the edginess of Chalamet’s ensemble, the CinemaCon red carpet felt like a sartorial nod to the sci-fi genre.

At the reopening of the Tiffany & Co. store in New York on April 27, Florence Pugh was a vision. The actress arrived for the event wearing a green see-through, cape gown with glittering diamonds, and showcased yet another hair victory. Pugh’s unconventional fashion sense has persisted, but we weren’t quite prepared for the source of her latest haircut.

Celebrity hairstylist Peter Lux has continued to experiment with Pugh’s blonde bob, which she chopped off in real life for her role in “A Good Person,” giving it a sculptural style and faux micro fringe for the Oscars, and creating a fanned work of art for the BAFTAs. He brought a few things with him to the NYC event.

She shared a few details about her surgery and ongoing recovery on Twitter at the time, saying she expected to be fully healed in about three months. Luckily, she told fans she’s “healing really fast,” and we’re happy to see the rapper is already back to delivering high-fashion looks on the red carpet.

Doja’s Valentino gown is the latest in a long list of daring outfits. At Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in January, she made headlines for feeding herself grapes in a blue leather jacket and 6-inch platform heels. She also proved her love for all things see-through at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, where she wore gold pasties under a sheer-panelled corset gown. Read on to see Doja’s fashionable red carpet, and stay tuned to see what she wears next — perhaps at the 2023 Met Gala.

Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup are married: ‘Hitched’

A wedding between Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts has taken place. Watts shared an Instagram photo of herself in a wedding gown on Saturday. Her photo caption simply said, “Hitched.”

Many well-known people gushed about the couple in the comments. Gwyneth Paltrow exclaimed with glee, “Yippeeeee!!!! Best wishes and lots of love from me! Justin Theroux, who co-starred with Watts in Mulholland Drive and cast and directed Crudup in Dedication (2007), added, “CONGRATS YOU TWO!!!!!”Amy Sedaris said, “Wow!” I’m overjoyed for the two of you since you make a great pair.

  • Despite transphobic backlash, Garth Brooks will be stocking his new Nashville bar with Bud Light

Despite transphobic backlash, Garth Brooks will be stocking his new Nashville bar with Bud Light

I intend for it to be a secure haven for you. ‘I want there to be politeness and people to enjoy one another,’ Brooks stated of his new company. Yes, all beer brands will be available. Just the way it is, that’s us. This is not a call that falls to us. If you’re invited into our home, our rule is simple: love each other. There are plenty of other establishments on lower Broadway for you to go if you’re an a-hole.

Some drinkers are boycotting Bud Light, and as a result, a few establishments have stopped selling it. The clubs that musicians John Rich and Kid Rock run on Nashville’s Broadway no longer carry Bud Light.

The country singer has a long history of supporting the LGBTQ cause. The song “We Shall Be Free,” written and performed by Brooks in 1992, strongly denounces racism and homophobia.

The song “We Shall Be Free” is the most divisive one I’ve ever recorded. From “someone who claims not to be a prophet but just an ordinary man,” Brooks wrote in the “The Chase” CD booklet, “a song of love, a song of tolerance.” I never anticipated that this song would cause any controversy. The paths we choose to travel down aren’t always the ones we expect them to be. For as long as I live, I will never waver from my unwavering support for every word of “We Shall Be Free.” I take great pride in it.

  • Kelis Responds to Fan Who Asked About Dating Rumors With Bill Murray: No, I wouldn’t even bother

Kelis Responds to Fan Who Asked About Dating Rumors With Bill Murray: No, I wouldn’t even bother

The allegations that Kelis and Bill Murray are an item are being treated with humor by Kelis.

On Saturday, an Instagram fan asked the “Milkshake” singer, 43, if she is dating actor Robert Redford, 72.

“Ma’am, would you mind addressing these claims against Bill Murray?! Cause, hey! Where is he going with all those stuff?! after receiving a message from the user, Kelis replied “lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all.”

The Sun reported earlier this week that Kelis is seeing the Ghostbusters actor less than a year after the death of her husband, Mike Mora, from stomach cancer.

On June 3 at London’s Mighty Hoopla music festival, Murray was spotted taking in a performance by Kelis, 13 years after his divorce from second wife Jennifer Butler.

PEOPLE’s request for response from Kelis and Murray’s representatives went unanswered for some time.

In the year following her husband’s death, Kelis has spoken candidly about her sorrow. An poignant Instagram post commemorating “exactly a year” after his passing was published by her in March. Kelis is the mother of two children, a girl, Galilee, 2, and a boy, Shepherd, 7, with her ex-husband Nas.

When it comes to my loved ones, I tend to keep to myself. There is no doubting the influence and change my husband’s death has brought into my life,” she stated. “People often want to know where I began my adventure. This is a short summary of a much more extensive discussion about how the issues we faced here forced me to learn how inextricably linked the body, mind, and emotions are and how you cannot effectively treat one without the other.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Sex and the City,” a special pop-up shop in New York City is loaded with the latest fashions

Carrie Bradshaw’s laptop, open and facing the window, is on the desk next to a copy of Zagat’s New York City guide from the year 2000. There is a lipstick-stained ashtray of Marlboro Lights next to the bed. On top of a stack of heavy fashion magazines is a black rotary phone. On a table is a stack of departing mail, among it a renewed subscription to Vogue. The leftover takeout is in the garbage. The Chanel boxes are stacked like Jenga in the wardrobe.

And Just Like That… pays close attention to every last detail. In celebration of the original series’ silver anniversary (it premiered on June 6, 1998) and this month’s (June 22) second season premiere of AJLT, Max is throwing a free popup in New York City for franchise lovers called It’s Been 25 Years, A Sex and the City Experience. The smoke-apocalypse has left the Northeast with “very unhealthy” air quality, yet I nevertheless stood in line on Thursday to see the experience for the press (and, okay, have a cosmo).

There were a lot of chic people there, all making statements with their outfits by wearing tutus and sequins and carrying luxury purses and heels that were far more wonderful than mine. One woman said she booked her flight the night before, and drove straight through the night from Ohio, saying her husband she had to BBS. I was looking around when I noticed that Sarah Jessica Parker herself had dropped by. That, too, is correct.

And just like that… it’s been 25 great years,” the message to viewers says as you go through a massive wall collage of iconic moments from the program. This show is dedicated to the wonderful people who have visited our shows throughout the years. You’ve incorporated these stories and characters into your life for over twenty years; we welcome the opportunity to do the same with you. X.

Then, you’ll see a replica of Carrie’s famous apartment. Sitting at the sex columnist’s desk (and, if featured, typing on her laptop with lines like “Are we willing to believe a newspaper columnist could afford all those Manolos?”) is another interactive feature.

  • Rachel Weisz’s “Dead Ringers” Remake’s Weird True Story

Rachel Weisz’s “Dead Ringers” Remake’s Weird True Story

In the film “Dead Ringers,” Beverly and Elliot Mantle, two gynecologists, are described as having an unhealthy preoccupation with one another and their patients. In her TV version, which premieres on Prime Video on April 21, Rachel Weisz portrays both Beverly and Elliot.

The original “Dead Ringers,” directed by David Cronenberg in 1988, has Jeremy Irons as the lead identical twin doctors. The book “Twins” by Bari Wood and Jack Geasland, published in 1977, served as the basis for that movie.

The calmer, more reserved twin, Beverly, falls in love with a patient in both the TV and movie adaptations of “Dead Ringers,” which makes Elliot incredibly envious and causes him (or her, depending on which “Dead Ringers” you’re seeing or reading) to wreck havoc on the family.

In 1975, identical twin doctors named Stewart and Cyril Marcus were found dead in one of their New York City apartments, as per the New York Times. In the 1960s, though, the Marcus twins were extremely successful doctors. They published cutting-edge research in medical journals and eventually became assistant professors of obstetrics and gynaecology at New York Hospital and co-directors at Cornell Hospital’s Infertility Clinic, according to Collider.

According to Esquire, Cyril was the more withdrawn one, while Stewart was more outgoing. They were also apparently together almost all of the time, sharing everything from an office to a house in the Hamptons. But by the 1970s, both were addicted to barbiturates and amphetamines.

The pair began to deteriorate around the mid-1970s, according to the New York Times, which found that the brothers had begun to miss surgeries around the time of their decline, and their behaviour grew noticeably strange. Their once immaculate office became dirty, and the brothers both lost an extreme amount of weight. In July 1975, their bodies were found in Cyril’s apartment, which was apparently disastrously filthy, cluttered with trash, human waste, and empty bottles of barbiturates.

  • Ryan Reynolds Gets a Shout-Out from Scarlett Johansson: “He’s a Good Guy”

Ryan Reynolds Gets a Shout-Out from Scarlett Johansson: “He’s a Good Guy”

On the 18 April episode of Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” podcast, Scarlett Johansson opened up about her past relationships. In addition, Johnansson discussed some of the most important things she has learnt from her three marriages and expressed her admiration for her three-year ex-husband Ryan Reynolds.

During the period they spent working on “Iron Man 2” in 2009, Johnansson and Paltrow were married. “We weren’t married very long, but we were when I first met you,” he said. In response to Paltrow’s statement that “We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our house,” Johansson stated, “He’s a good guy.”

In 2007, Reynolds and Johansson started dating. The following year, they got married. Later, in 2010, they split up, andIn 2011, their divorce became final. Reynolds wed Blake Lively in 2012 after they divorced, and the two now have four kids together. Before being married in October 2014, Johansson and French writer Romain Dauriac received their daughter, Rose, in August 2014. Before divorcing in 2017, the couple had been together for about three years.

Johansson will be married to “Saturday Night Live” actor Colin Jost as of October 2020, and she credits him with teaching her the most about what she values in a partner. “I wouldn’t have been ready for a relationship like the one I have with Colin [now] when we first started seeing each other at different times in my life because I wasn’t comfortable setting my own boundaries,” she admitted to Paltrow”. I didn’t know what I needed from another person as well as what I wanted from them. I think one of the things I realized is that there are some fundamental aspects of your own personality that you need, at least for me, and that you should share with the other person.”

The couple gave birth to Cosmo, a boy, in August 2021, which was their first kid together. The main thing Johansson has learnt since becoming married to Jost, according to her, is that she needs “to be with a compassionate person.” “That’s like a fundamental characteristic that has to be there,” she added. “And I think that understanding what those fundamental things are that you need in a partner is a must, for longevity anyway.”

  • “Why Are You So Scared of Breasts?” defiantly challenges body shamers Florence Pugh

“Why Are You So Scared of Breasts?” defiantly challenges body shamers Florence Pugh

On July 10 during Paris Couture Week, Florence Pugh dazzled in a hot pink see-through dress at Valentino’s Haute Couture show in Rome, Italy. She certainly looked amazing in fuchsia, channeling the Barbiecore trend, but some people started remarking on other things as well.

The actor, who co-stars with singer Harry Styles in the upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling” by Olivia Wilde, used Instagram to call out body shamers who were criticizing Wilde’s apparent nipples. Whether they are famous or not, criticizing someone’s body is never acceptable, but the 26-year-old unfortunately saw it coming.

Every word Pugh used to tear down the haters on social media was a heartfelt plea for this misogynistic rhetoric to end. “Listen, I knew when,” she writes.

There was certain to be commentary on my stunning Valentino dress because I wore it. We all knew what we were doing, whether it was a good or bad thing. I was eager to wear it; I had no anxiety at all. I wasn’t before, later, or even today. It’s been fascinating to observe how simple it is for guys to completely dismember a woman’s body in front of everyone, proudly. You even provide your job titles and email addresses in your bio.

“It’s not the first time and probably won’t be the last that a woman hears what’s wrong with her body from a group of strangers, but what’s worrying is just how vulgar they are, luckily, Pugh — who played Amy March in “Little Women” — seems unfazed by the trolling. Alongside three pictures of herself with her nipples showing, Pugh continued: “Thankfully, I’ve come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I’m happy with all of the ‘flaws’ that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14. So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny tits’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested’.I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.

“What’s more concerning is…. Why are you so scared of breasts? Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none? What. Is. So. Terrifying. It makes me wonder what happened to you to be so content on being so loudly upset by the size of my boobs and body..?”
